| Just completed major mods (see below) and took car to dyno. At 3,500 -4,500 rpm it leans out which was expected per Greg D. A local shop sells a Unichip Piggyback computer which I installed. This allows adjustments of the F/A ratio and timing. As soon as we installed the Unichip we lost HP and Torque even with a 1:1 setting. We believe the Unichip is causing a phase shift or delay of the crank signal which is shifting the timing. The factory said to turn on a macro but it was not available in the model for the 300 ZX. (Since the factory was not much help I'm not sure they got their act together for the 300 ZX TT). The car only made 320 RWHP @ 16 psi and on the street it's slower than before the mods. On Monday I need to call the dyno shop and have a little talk with them. When I bypass the computer the engine becomes a monster (need to be careful due to the lean spot). Greg expected the car to produce over 400+ hp. I've checked timing, vacumn leaks and fuel pressure, all OK. At this point I'm assuming the Unichip is NOT going to work on the 300 Z. Greg D said the AFC he uses in his car was discontinued and he did not like the replacement model. What do you guys feel is the best available device for a Z that will allow me to adjust the F/A ratio and the timing. (By the way for those of you that like to say "Search" I did a search and came up with over 4,000+ listing under AFC's).
